Música, humana música

Tem gente que pensa em usar música para promover isso ou aquilo. Pensa em música como veículo de educação, de venda, de etc. Não gosto disso. A música é sua própria explicação. Ela é uma das dimensões de vida que nos faz humanos. (Quem não aprecia música é apenas meio humano…)
Em post recente, o Tonhão falou de uma canção gravada por Peter, Paul & Mary: Cruel War. Emocionante. Mas eu acho que a canção que melhor expressa os sentimentos pacifistas das gentes que lutavam contra a guerra do Vietnã é Where Have All the Flowers Gone? Por isso fui ao Youtube para ver essa grande obra de Pete Seeger. Há várias versões no ar. A mais emocionante é uma gravação recente em que PP&M cantam com o autor. O público, composto por pessoas em todas as faixas de idade, canta junto com o trio e Pete. Emoção pura. Quase choro. Para um aperitivo, coloquei, no post passado, link para um show de Pete Seeger na Suécia, em 1968. Um outro dia vou indicar mais versões de Flowers aqui, com destaque para a gravação de PP&M com Pete Seeger.

Recentemente andei levantando parte da obra de uma grande cantante dos anos 60, Soledad Bravo. Ela tem um álbum inteiro de canções latino-americanas revolucionárias. No próximo post vou colocar aqui uma delas, Comandante Che Guevara, num vídeo que está no Youtube.
